The Restless Coast are Southampton’s finest purveyors of Awkward Punk Rock – which basically means songs about being sad, anxious, tired, old before your time and permanently socially confused - with choruses catchy enough that you’ll be humming them while you quietly disassociate from your spiralling existential dread. Formed out of a mutual love of Alkaline Trio, The Menzingers and that moment when you realise the world is on fire but you’ve still got bills to pay.   

They take all the best topics – anxiety, loneliness, insomnia, apathy, regret – and somehow make them sound like something you can dance to (badly, and with minimal eye contact). Since the release of the their new album Get Sad in May 2025, The Restless Coast have been busy making three DIY, zero budget music videos (which you should absolutely watch – preferably alone at 2am when you can’t sleep) and inflicting their unique anthems of despair, dejection and defiance on the towns and cities of the south coast of England.  

They’re now threatening to take their brand of bad times, good music further afield in the coming days, months and years before the world implodes.
